Video Schmideos… 😅 📺

Reader, AI has made content easier to create.

Which is great. And also a bit of a problem.

Because when everyone can create more content, everyone creates more content.

More posts. More carousels. More newsletters. More “thought leadership”. More. More. More. I’m down with this because I am creating more content for Growth Experts too. But it does feel like you’re farting in the wind these days.

To counter this, I’ve been trying to record more videos.

Not because video is magic. It isn’t. However it does give me an unfair advantage over text because I can bring way more of myself.

It’s much harder to fake being useful when someone can watch you work through an idea.

I won’t lie, it can be frustrating though.

You start recording, stumble over one sentence, get annoyed, restart, stumble again, question your entire existence, want to quit, scream at yourself, do yet another take and start this process all over again.

The editing process has become a lot easier with AI though! I can now use Claude Code to help clean up the awkward bits, cut the ums and ahs, trim the silence, create transcripts, and turn the video into other useful bits of content. So this is a big win.

Anyway, here are my latest videos I’ve published. Would love any feedback, good or bad!

I Turned a Basic Email Into a Branded Template Using Al

In this one, I walked through how I used ChatGPT, Claude Design and Claude Code to create a kickass welcome mailer for this newsletter.

ChatGPT for visual direction, moved to Claude Design, then Claude Code to build the template.

Worth watching if you’re curious about how AI can help with actual marketing assets, not just more generic copy.

Burgers in Galway

This one came from eating an incredible burger at Handsome Burger in Galway.

Your ideal clients are not just looking at what you do.

They’re looking at who you work with.

Because us humans want to belong. We want to be associated with people, companies and communities that say something good about us.

If your best-fit prospects look at your client list and think, “Those are my kind of people,” you’ve already made your first meeting easier.

Bonus video: Vlog from GLC in Dublin

These are my favourite videos to make.

I filmed my trip to EO GLC 2026 in Dublin, with a bit of everything in there: people, conversations, Guinness, coffee, cold water swims, conference moments, and the general chaos that comes with travelling halfway across the world for an EO event.

I also film all our international holidays and turn them into vlogs too. I keep them unlisted though as they are just for my extended family and friends. So amazing for the memories because photos just don't do your holiday justice.
(Shout if you’d like to see one or two. Tokyo / New York / Greece are my favs I’ve recorded)

So that’s it for this newsletter.

Progress over perfection, unfortunately, remains annoyingly good advice.

Taylor Jackson snuck in here while Jason wasn't looking last time. He's still in the GE gulag, so I am taking the podium next. Two years in, and they finally handed me the keys. Jason's probably going to regret this. Hi everyone 👋 My name is Marli, and I've been with Growth Experts for a while now. So why am I writing this newsletter today for you to read? Because I’m going to let you in on something cool. Because I know you and I can be cool like that Reader. Marketing is a pretty consistent...

Hi Reader, Yesterday, somebody reached out to me who I haven't spoken to in over three years. They were finally ready to start talking about marketing for their business. THREE YEARS after our first conversation… (Firstly, good luck to me trying to attribute the lead source in our CRM on this one. Do I create a new deal, or resurrect the old deal with all the notes?! 🫠) The thing that got to me about this, and why I also made a video on it, is around understanding timing. I can't plan for...

Hi Reader, the riches are in the niches. We’ve all heard this many times, me included, yet I’m still marketing my own business way too broadly and wonder why I don’t have a Ferrari* parked in my driveway (yet). How I’ve picked “niches” before I would take our client list, see which industry they were in, consider if I’d like a lot more of those businesses as clients, and then go off and create content and landing pages targeting that industry. The big problem was this was WAY TOO BROAD. Like...
